Informal Kinship carers:

Informal kinship carers are recognised under the Carer Recognition Act 2023 (Tas).

An informal kinship carer is an adult who is caring for someone under the age of 18 through an informal arrangement because the child’s parent is not able to.

There is help available!

Services Australia has a Grandparent, Foster, and Kinship Carer Adviser line.
