Mental ill health

Mental ill-health?

It can be rewarding, but sometimes be challenging supporting a person experiencing mental ill health. This could be when a person experiences changes in their thinking, feelings, or behaviours. They may also have trouble with day-to-day tasks, or it can result in more extreme thoughts and behaviours.

Some people may experience mental ill health and not have a formal diagnosis, whilst some have diagnosed mental health conditions. Either way, as a carer you play an important role, and there is support available for you.

The first point of call to access mental health support in Tasmania is through the Access Mental Health phone line.
