National Carers Week, held this year between 12 and 18 October, is now in its 33rd year. This important week is dedicated to recognising and celebrating the more than 3 million Australians like yourself, who provide unpaid care and emotional support to a family member or friend.
This year, we’re holding Carer Expos in Launceston and Burnie to help carers access supports and services to help with the caring role.
During National Carers Week, Cuppa With a Carer events will be held across the State, with our Carer Support Groups and with other community organisations participating.
And to mark the week, a number of landmarks across Tasmania will light up blue.
We warmly invite you to join us in celebrating carers and the vital role you play. Please read on for more details.

Cuppa with a Carer
During National Carers Week, Cuppa with a Carer events will once again be held, including those hosted by our Carer Support Groups. We’re also inviting community members, leaders, councils and organisations across Tasmania to host their own Cuppa with a Carer event. These events are a chance to bring carers together, strengthen community connections and highlight the free support and services available through Carer Gateway.
