“Many carers don’t see themselves as carers at all. They see themselves as a daughter, a husband, a parent or a friend who is simply doing what needs to be done,” said Carers Tasmania and Care2Serve CEO Dr Samantha Fox.
“When carers are invisible, so is the toll that caring can take on their health, their finances and their relationships, and so is the support that is there for them.”
“Anyone, at any time, can become a carer. This National Carers Week, we are asking every Tasmanian to care for a carer: check in on them, offer a hand, and help them connect with support.”
